We had dinner at a new restaurant in the Del Mar Plaza: Monarch Ocean Pub. It was REALLY good. We started with honey-roasted carrots with a light ricotta sauce (a bit bland but it was the carrots’ fault) and some well-breaded, mildly spicy calamari with a yuzu aioli. I had a very nice ahi poke with homemade potato chips, and the others had sandwiches including an excellent pastrami.

We finished it off with frozen yogurt at Seaside Yogurt, which was delightful (and staffed by a server who was both friendly and patient).
