The first stop on the SuperAwesome Ginormous vacation was Disneyland. Thousands of blog posts are devoted to Disneyland, and we won’t try to summarize them here. Instead, we will focus on some topics we know about. The first is accommodations. Choosing where to stay when visiting Disneyland is crucial to optimize your time at the happiest place on Earth.

RoamSquad has visited Disneyland multiple times and believes that, since we spend so much time at the park, staying at an expensive hotel with all the “bells and whistles” is unnecessary. Instead, we choose to stay in a less expensive, reliable hotel close to the Disney entrance. In no specific order, here are the Disney area hotels/motels recommended by RoamSquad.

The Candy Cane Inn- (candycaneinn.net)-Candy Cane Inn is a true budget hotel, but it offers many amenities which are appreciated before and after a trip to Disney: a morning buffet and a small but adorable pool beloved by the little guests. Most importantly, it is reasonably priced, allowing guests to give even more of their hard-earned money to “the Mouse. It has been a part of Anaheim since Disneyland opened, and its unique location makes it an easy walk to the front gate.

Anaheim Portofino Inn and Suites (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwik6vLytND_AhX7HTQIHRpZAf0QFnoECBEQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.portofinoinnanaheim.com%2F&usg=AOvVaw0F8vPJDpsT00zb0BziJ9tK&opi=89978449 ) RoamSquad has stayed at this reasonably priced hotel many times and keeps going back for two reasons. First, it has unique family rooms which allow a family of 5 to share one room comfortably. Second, it is a short walk to the main Disneyland gate.

Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/snadt-courtyard-anaheim-theme-park-entrance/overview/?scid=f2ae0541-1279-4f24-b197-a979c79310b0.  The Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim theme park entrance is priced higher than the Portofino or the Candy Cane Inn.  However, you do get the reliability of a Marriott and it is also within a convenient walking distance to the Disneyland maingate.  The other big selling point of the Courtyard by Marriott is that there is a actual waterpark right on property.

Disneys Grand Californian Hotel https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjQnby_stD_AhU0Aa0GHab6A8kYABAFGgJwdg&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESbOD2LIgxHeom0LNsk-uLqzp7xS27IB6aZQbIWsxrlSt8tBa1g4WnJf_hFF-Y_QBjbG5Iq2cEb4J11IgOoDLfsZcbVQGRDPFEN322X6b1CgUnT9lSoeiKJA_fvt2hfXlJf93XGouDsrEp6Wad0w&sig=AOD64_1M5NhHMpY7C98EzTSka8Nr-MCBxg&q&adurl&ved=2ahUKEwix_7K_stD_AhW0IjQIHW0kDrcQ0Qx6BAgPEAM Grand Californian hotel is not a budget Disney hotel. In fact, since it is in Disneyland and has entry into California Adventure, it is one of the more expensive hotels in Anaheim. Roamsquad has included it on this list since, if you are considering staying at a Disneyland Hotel and money is no object, this hotel is an excellent choice. Our family has stayed at the Grand Californian a couple of times, and the accommodations are first-rate, the dining options are excellent, and the location is convenient for everything. Moreover, if you are traveling with little ones who need an early afternoon break, the hotel is perfect for easing your child back to the room for a quick nap. But as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. And to stay at the Grand Californian, you will be paying top dollar.

There are likely over one hundred properties in Anaheim and given our tastes, Roamsquad probably would find something to enjoy about most of them.  This list is not intended to be exhaustive.  Merely to provide readers with a list of properties on which Roamsquad has personally stayed and approves.  Safe travels.
